Missing Elderly Michigan Couple Found Safe

GRAND RAPIDS (WWJ) -  In west Michigan, an elderly couple with dementia that had been missing since Sunday night has been found safe.

The Kent County Sheriff's Office says Robert, 87, and Lucille, 83, Fankhauser of Spencer Township were located by Michigan State Police in Wexford County Monday morning.

They are unharmed, according to deputies, and are being reunited with family.

Family member said they took their dog with them, but it's unclear where they were headed. No further details were released.
