Missing Detroit Man With Dementia Dies After Crash
HOWARD CITY, Mich. (AP) - Police say a 74-year-old man reported missing in Detroit died after in a vehicle crash in west Michigan.
Authorities say James Odell Clemons had been reported missing Monday. He was pronounced dead at a hospital following a crash at 2:28 a.m. Tuesday.
Authorities say Clemons was westbound on M-46 in a Ford Flex when he drove over two sets of rumble strips and through a stop sign in Reynolds Township. His vehicle collided with a large dirt embankment.
Police say Clemons had no passengers and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
MLive.com says family of Clemons had contacted Detroit police on Monday and told them he suffered from dementia and had disappeared.
