Mike O'Hara Talks Lions Draft, Thinks Team Will Trade Up

This is a new late development with the Detroit Lions that has gotten very little discussion in the weeks and months leading up to Thursday's NFL Draft. We talked with Lions Insider Mike O'Hara before Wednesday's show and he pointed out that Lions GM Martin Mayhew's track record is not to trade down as many have projected the Lions to do in round one -- but his track record is to move up. And he's right.
In 2010 the Lions moved up to draft running back Jahvid Best in the late first round. And then they moved up in 2011 to get running back Mikel Leshoure in the second round.
So the question is, if they are going to move up, who are they pursuing?
"I think Gilmore," said O'Hara. "I'm always kind of leery of the third player at any position and he was the second player. Gilmore seems to be a lot closer to (Morris) Claiborne and then I think it's Gilmore."
Stephon Gilmore is a 6-foot-1 cornerback from South Carolina who is considered by most to be the second best corner in the draft.
