Mike Babcock Seeks More Passion From Wings
Talk to coach Mike Babcock long enough and the term "engage" likely will come up.
A Babcock coached team definitely engages. That is, competes physically, imposes its will on the other team, out-works its opponent.
Despite winning three out of their first five games, the Wings need to be more engaged.
"The game is a real simple game," Babcock said after Saturday's 2-1, overtime win over Phoenix. "If you compete harder than the other team, you can win."
Don't, and you won't. The Wings have been fortunate to survive, but there's a need to be more active.
