Miguel Cabrera, Jose Valverde Named To All-Star Game
The Tigers will send first baseman Miguel Cabrera and closer Jose Valverde to the All-Star Game on July 13 in Anaheim.
Cabrera, 27, will make his fifth All-Star appearance and first as a Tiger. Cabrera received the most votes by a Tiger (2,586,207).
Despite a late push in balloting, he still finished about 347,000 votes behind Justin Morneau of the Twins, who was named the AL's starting first baseman today.
