Miguel Cabrera is back.
For a second straight year, the Detroit Tigers' slugger – who also happens to be the hottest hitter in baseball with a .363 average through 63 games – is on the cover of Sports Illustrated.
This time he has company.
The cover refers to Cabrera and Prince Fielder as the "Bash Bros," whose "swing-from-the-heels power and awesomeness" makes them "baseball's 21st century version of Mantle and Maris."
High praise, to be sure.
The article is written by former Detroit Free Press columnist Michael Rosenberg, who also wrote the story about Cabrera's Triple Crown season in 2012, when he landed the SI cover the first time.
