MiCTA Selects Verizon Business Communications as Endorsed National Vendor
MiCTA, a Saginaw-based nationwide group purchasing organization, has named Verizon Business, a unit of Verizon Communications (NYSE: VZ) an endorsed national vendor for telecommunications, Internet protocol (IP) networking, Voice over Internet Protocol, specialty business communications and networking services, and direct equipment purchases.
Said Tim von Hoff, COO of MiCTA: "Our agreement with Verizon Business enables us to bring a wide range of valuable products and services to our members that address their telecommunications and networking needs."
Verizon Business was selected as an endorsed national telecommunications, networking and technology vendor as the result of MiCTA's highly competitive bidding process, which is designed to evaluate technology-oriented and telecommunications solutions on behalf of its nationwide membership. MiCTA members are eligible to purchase these services at significant discounts. Besides delivering substantial cost savings to its members, MiCTA contracts enable members to purchase these services without conducting additional bidding processes.
Verizon Business will provide products and services to MiCTA members through 2012.
MiCTA represents thousands of higher education, K-12, healthcare, library, governmental and charitable entities. Nationally, MiCTA seeks to resolve common voice, video and data issues, provide helpful information, participate in legislative and regulatory telecommunications advocacy, and negotiate discounted purchase contracts for telecommunications and technology services for its members.
