Michigan Unadjusted Joblessness Little Changed, 5.7 Percent
LANSING (AP) — The state says Michigan's seasonally unadjusted unemployment rate stood at 5.7 percent in March, little changed from one month earlier but down 1.8 percent from last year.
The Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget released state and regional employment figures Thursday. The March rate is 0.1 points below February's 5.8 percent.
The state says the seasonally unadjusted jobless rate was 8.5 percent in March 2014.
The department says March's regional unemployment rates ranged from a low of 3.5 percent in the Ann Arbor area to a high of 10 percent in the northeastern Lower Peninsula.
It says the jobless rate in populous metropolitan Detroit fell 0.3 points in March to 6 percent.
