Michigan Teen Dies In Hunting Accident
Authorities say a 14-year-old hunter has died of an apparent accidental gunshot wound to his stomach in rural Lenawee County.
The Daily Telegram of Adrian reports that the body of Colin Fletcher of Fairfield Township was found Friday morning following a search involving roughly 100 volunteers that began Thursday after he failed to return from hunting.
The body was found about a quarter-mile from his home. The sheriff's department reports the boy had been hunting squirrels and rabbits with a 20-gauge shotgun. Fairfield Township is about 75 miles southwest of Detroit.
The Monroe Evening News reports the Monroe County sheriff's aviation unit assisted in the search.
