The vaunted Michigan State defense delivers plenty of hits. Saturday it took one.
Jairus Jones, a senior linebacker-turned safety who leads the Spartans with two interceptions, will miss six weeks with a knee injury, said Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio.
Jones played 12 games as a redshirt freshman in 2010 but has dealt with numerous health issues since then. He played lasted no more than half the season in 2011 and 2012 and now has made it through just four games in 2013 before being sidelined.
