Michigan State University Student Found Dead In Dorm Room
EAST LANSING (WWJ/AP) - Michigan State University officials are trying to determine what led to the death of an 18-year-old student from Metro Detroit.
The Lansing State Journal reports that Olivia Nicole Pryor was found Monday morning in her South Hubbard Hall dorm room. Her roommate called police after finding her unresponsive.
While a cause of death has not yet been determined, campus police said alcohol is believed to be a factor. An autopsy was planned.
Pryor is from Roseville and was studying journalism at the East Lansing school.
The death is the third on campus in the past several weeks. Nineteen-year-old student Carly Glenn, who lived in Snyder-Phillips Hall, died Feb. 10 from a strain of meningococcal disease, and 34-year-old residence hall director Corey Malloch was found dead in his campus residence on March 3; a cause of death is yet to be determined.
