Michigan State Reports Near-Record Football Season-Ticket Sales
Michigan State Athletics Department officials reported 61,931 football season tickets have been sold for the 2014 season – the second-highest total in school history. Season-ticket sales in 2014 account for 83 percent of the Spartan Stadium capacity (75,005). It marks just the seventh time in school history that season-ticket sales have exceeded 60,000.
Overall, football season-ticket sales are up 4,211 (7 percent) from last season (57,720). Student-season admissions reached fully capacity at 14,000 – the highest single-season total sold since 1988 (16,000). It also marks the eighth-straight season that more than 13,500 football student-season admissions have been sold.
Michigan State has ranked among the NCAA's Top 25 in attendance each of the last 58 seasons, including No. 20 in 2013, averaging 72,328 fans per game. The Spartans ranked No. 19 in the NCAA in total attendance at 506,294 for seven home games.
