EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Mark Dantonio isn't about to panic after Michigan State dropped its conference opener last weekend.
The Spartans are in a bit of a hole in the Legends Division after falling to Ohio State 17-16 on Saturday, and there was one interesting note from the depth chart Tuesday. Freshman Aaron Burbridge, who has two catches so far this season, tops one of the wide receiver positions.
Quarterback Andrew Maxwell, who is in his first season as the starter, showed potential against the Buckeyes, but Michigan State hasn't quite been able to replace some of the playmakers it lost after last season.
The Spartans play at Indiana this weekend before a four-week stretch that includes games against Iowa, Michigan, Wisconsin and Nebraska.
