Michigan State Cheerleader Released From Hospital

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — A Michigan State cheerleader has been released from the hospital after a scary fall during her school's basketball game against Florida State.

The school says Taylor Young was discharged from Sparrow Hospital early Thursday.

The junior from Twin Lake, Mich., was raised into the air and fell onto her face during a timeout Wednesday night in East Lansing. Dr. Jeff Kovan, the basketball team's physician, was among the medical personnel who evaluated the cheerleader. She was slowly strapped to a backboard and her head was immobilized.

The cheerleader smiled and stuck both thumbs up when the crowd cheered after she was lifted onto a stretcher.
