Michigan State Again Hit By Vandalism Ahead Of Football Game [PHOTOS]

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — The campuses of Michigan State University and the University of Michigan have been hit by vandals ahead the football game between the Spartans and the Wolverines.

MLive.com reports water balloons filled with blue paint were thrown near the "Sparty" statue early Friday. University police say the statue wasn't hit.

The vandalism came after a statue of Earvin "Magic" Johnson was vandalized with yellow paint earlier in the week. The statue of the former basketball star had an "M'' and the words "BEAT STATE" painted on it.

Michigan's colors are maize and blue.

The Detroit News reports a statue of a wolverine was vandalized with green and white paint on the University of Michigan's North Campus.

No. 12 Michigan hosts No. 7 Michigan State on Saturday.
