'Michigan: Our Water, Our Future' Tackles The Issues!

With one-fifth of the world's fresh water supply, protecting Michigan's greatest natural asset is becoming more difficult with threats popping up from aging oil pipelines, fracking, and water run off from crops.

This riveting 30-minute special airs 6:30 pm Sunday (before "60 Minutes") and includes high-profile leaders like Gov. Rick Snyder, Ford Executive Chairman Bill Ford , educators and community activists talking about what is taking place now to protect Michigan's streams, rivers and lakes.
Michigan has 3,000 miles of Great Lakes coast, 11,000 inland lakes and hundreds of rivers and wetlands which translates into recreation, tourism, increased property values and economic development.
Cain and Pytlowany also showcase some of Michigan's most amazing landmarks including the Pictured Rocks, Tahquamenon Falls. They also highlight the importance of water to our businesses, our recreation and our families.
With a growing shortage of water in places like California and Arizona, and lack of drinkable water woes around the world, Michigan is in the enviable position.
