'Michigan Matters' Focus: Mitch Albom On Detroit And Hockeytown, Roundtable Debates Trump-Hillary

Detroit Free Press columnist and best selling author Mitch Albom talks about his latest project "Hockey: The Musical" -- a comedy now showing at City Theatre which taps into Detroit's love affair with the sport.

Albom had wanted to write the musical comedy revolving it for years and finally dived in and decided to do it. His brother, Peter Albom, is directing it.

The play continues through July 10.

Albom then has another play about Detroit Tigers legendary announcer Ernie Harwell that will run after at the same theatre. He also talked about the revitalization of Detroit and his far flung career.

Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson, Denise Ilitch and Susy Avery, who is leaving her job as executive director of Michigan Womens Commission in a few weeks, discussed the impact women have had in the region.

And there was talk about presidential politics and prospect of having a female president if Hillary Clinton prevails.

You can hear the conversation by watching "Michigan Matters" 11:30 am Sunday only on CBS 62.
