'Michigan Matters' Exclusive: Politicos Dish On Obama, Snyder, Hillary And Jeb
It was a supercharged conversation about local and national politics as newly elected Michigan Republican Chair Ronna Romney McDaniels, Michigan Democratic Party Chairman Lon Johnson, Democratic strategist Doug Sosnik, and Fox News Channels' Tucker Carlson talked with host Carol Cain about a wide range of hot topics.
The four political powerhouses didn't hold back.
Romney McDaniels appeared in her first TV interview since being elected at the Michigan GOP convention last weekend. She discussed her mission and focus in the year ahead.
Johnson, who also won re-election to the Democratic post a few weeks ago, talked about the road ahead and the 2016 presidential contest.
Sosnik, who was an advisor to former President Bill Clinton, talked about Hillary Clinton and her likely run for president in 2016.
Sosnik, also a best seller author, mentioned he would likely join her team once she does officially announce.
Carlson, the conservative talk show host and journalist, raised his family ties to Michigan as his wife grew up in Grosse Pointe.
Sosnik also discussed his Michigan background. He helped former Cong. Bob Carr win election in Michigan decades ago.
Sosnik and Carlson headlined the Michigan Political Leadership Program's 20th annual dinner program held Thursday night at Laurel Manor.
Carol Cain served as emcee and the CBS 62 crew taped the special episode of "Michigan Matters" featuring the four leaders at the event.
Over 800 political and business leaders from across the state attended the Livonia event. The MPLP show then went on the road and was repeated Friday morning in Grand Rapids where 400 listened to Sosnik and Carlson.
The two events also marked the retirement of Doug Roberts, director of PPSR, which oversees the MPLP program housed at Michigan State University.
