Michigan Man Suspected In Double Murder Kills Himself At Buddhist Temple
HOLLAND, Mich. (WWJ/AP) - Police say a man suspected of killing two people in Holland in western Michigan has killed himself.
Investigators on Tuesday found 51-year-old Bounthavee Nerasin of Zeeland inside his gold Lexus SUV at Lao Buddhist Temple near Holland with what police say was a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.
He died at the scene after emergency responders attempted to resuscitate him, according to police.
Nerasin was suspected in the deaths of 37-year-old Mani Khounvongsa and 40-year-old Gilberto Andrade-Pena, who were fatally shot Monday night at an apartment in Holland.
Police Capt. Jack Dykstra said the victims appeared to have been trying to escape when they were killed. Andrade-Pena's body was found on the front lawn.
Two other people in the apartment weren't hurt.
A man hunt ensued, with the public warned that Nerasin should be considered armed and dangerous,
Police are investigating now what led to the shooting.
The victims know one another, according to police, who have so far declined to say how. According reports not yet confirmed, the killings may have been the result of a love triangle.
Nerasin's wife said one of the victims was her husband's girlfriend.
