(CBS DETROIT) - Michigan's average gas prices declined 6 cents from last week, AAA-The Auto Club Group reported Monday.

Motorists are now paying an average of $3.03 per gallon for regular unleaded, AAA said, which is 14 cents less than this time last month and 1 cent more than this time last year.

For a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline, that adds up to an average $45.

"Michigan motorists are seeing lower prices at the pump," said Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson, AAA-The Auto Club Group. "If crude oil prices fall, alongside low demand, gas prices may continue to drop."

Metro Detroit had the most expensive average gas prices in the state Monday at $3.14 a gallon; with Benton Harbor the least expensive at an average of $2.89 a gallon.
