Michigan Could Turn Into A Pivotal State For Republican Primary
DETROIT (WWJ) - On the heels of CBS News reporting that Newt Gingrich has won the South Carolina Republican presidential primary. That news could turn Michigan's February 28th primary from a snore ... to something more.
Pollster Steve Mitchell of Mitchell Research and Communications spoke with WWJ's Tim Kiska: "Michigan was concerned at one time that the race may be over but now Michigan is going to be right in the spotlight - if it's a close race in Florida you're going to see enormous media attention," said Mitchell.
Florida's primary is scheduled for January 31, followed by four caucuses, a three-week break and then Michigan.
