Mich. Man Gets 28-50 Years For Killing Mother-In-Law
HOWELL (AP) - A 63-year-old man has been sentenced to serve 28 to 50 years in prison for fatally shooting his 72-year-old mother-in-law last year at her home in Livingston County's Brighton Township.
Americo DeCiantis Jr. was sentenced Thursday in the death of Louise DeRosia.
WHMI-FM reports DeCiantis will be 92 years old before he's eligible for parole.
The Madison Heights man had been charged with open murder, but entered a guilty plea to a count of second-degree murder in January in a deal with prosecutors.
Police say DeCiantis admitted shooting DeRosia after an argument and leaving her wallet and cell phone in Eastpointe in an attempt to make it look like a random robbery.
The Livingston County Daily Press & Argus says DeRosia was found on Jan. 26, 2010.
