Mich. Man Charged In Sex Assault Of NY Teen He Met Online
UNION (WWJ/AP) - A 45-year-old man is charged criminal sexual conduct after authorities say a 15-year-old New York girl who met him online was found in southwest Michigan.
The Cass County Sheriff's Office said Dean Young was arraigned Friday and held on a $75,000 bond.
The girl was found unharmed at about 11 p.m. Thursday at a home on Spencer Drive in Union, Mich., about 80 miles south of Grand Rapids. The Cass County Sheriff's Office notified the girl's parents, who drove overnight from New York to pick her up. She was released into their custody on Friday.
Michigan authorities were alerted to the girl's whereabouts by the FBI. The girl had run away from her home in Monroe, New York, about 50 miles northwest of New York City.
Young also is charged with using a computer for the solicitation of a minor for immoral purposes.
Young is originally from Arizona, but had recently moved to southwest Michigan where he was living with a friend.
