Mich. Delta Flight Makes Emergency Landing In Wis.
ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (AP) - Delta Air Lines Inc. is investigating an engine failure that forced a flight from Michigan to make an emergency landing this weekend at an airport near Green Bay.
The plane landed safely Saturday night. A WAOW-TV report says none of the 41 passengers was hurt.
The aircraft had departed from Detroit and was bound for the regional Central Wisconsin Airport. But after one of the engines started smoking, the crew made an emergency landing at Austin Straubel International Airport in Ashwaubenon.
Delta says when the smoke was detected the pilot shut off the plane's right engine as a precaution.
Passenger Bonnie Bissonette says there was clearly smoke but she couldn't tell that an engine had been shut off. Passengers boarded another plane Saturday and continued on to Central Wisconsin Airport.
