Metro Detroit's Kristen Bell Says 'I'm About 367 Pounds'
DETROIT (CBS Detroit) Celebrities Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard usually keep their relationship off the radar, which is why it was so shocking when the pair called 97.1 The Ticket Thursday as part of a "get a celebrity to call us" contest.
"I am currently quite a bit overweight," said a pregnant Bell, 32, who grew up in Huntington Woods and attended Royal Oak schools. The star of "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" and "Couple's Retreat" is now starring in "House of Lies," a series on Showtime.
She added: "I'm pretty far (into pregnancy), I'm about 367 pounds, not sure how far that is in months."
Comedian Shepard and Bell, a longtime couple, called in together to compete for star status with Detroit sports legend Barry Sanders, among others. Shepard fought hard to win the star wattage contest.
"I gotta go with us, now legend-wise, we're not even on the map," Shepard said, while Bell said they had to add them up together to "outstar" Sanders and the rest. "If I have to rush for 150 yards, I'll do it."
1980s songstress Debbie Gibson was another contender who called in and even belted out a tune. Bell said she was a big fan.
"I had the perfume Electric Youth, she's a big deal," Bell said.
Shepard wasn't as impressed, saying, "She's a big deal, but until she marries another big deal and they call together (she can't win.)"
When all was said and done, the guy who got Bell and Shepard to call won the contest and a trip to join the Detroit Tigers Fantasy Camp this spring.
