Metro Detroiters Dreaming Of Powerball Riches
DETROIT (WWJ) - Wednesday night's Powerball jackpot tops $400 million, and that has Metro Detroiters rushing to stores for their tickets.
Detroiter Carthon Moore decided to buy a ticket after finding out just how high the jackpot had risen.
"What's your lucky number," he was asked by WWJ's Sandra McNeill. "Seven," he responded.
McNeill: "What's your big dream?"
Moore: "Probably to own my own business."
McNeill: What kind of business?
Moore: "Well, like, construction; trailers."
McNeill: "You really just want to be the boss."
Moore: Uh, yeah, I do want to be the boss. You right (laughs).
Edgar Powers, meanwhile, says if he wins, he may take up golf again, but he won't be working.
McNeill: "What would you do with $400 million?"
Powers: "First, I'm gonna make sure I take care of my kids and set them all straight, and I'm taking a trip, most definitely. But, otherwise, I mean I'm gonna just invest the money; I'm trying to have a long name. I want my name to last for generations."
Tune in to WWJ Newsradio 950 for the winning numbers, which will be drawn just before 11:00pm tonight.
