Metro Detroit To Get $4.2M For Housing, Homelessness Programs
CLINTON TWP. (WWJ/AP) - Metro Detroit will receive $4.2 million in federal funding to promote affordable housing, fight homelessness and boost the local economy.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development grants were announced Monday as part of a new program expanding the supply of affordable housing for low-income families in southeastern Michigan.
Macomb County will receive $1.6 million in block grants and $1.1 million in HOME Program funding. Clinton Township will get more than $487,000 in federal funds to improve affordable housing.
Farmington Hills in Oakland County will get a $344,000 grant. A $361,000 grant is headed to Waterford Township, also in Oakland County.
Wayne County's Livonia will get nearly $283,000.
