Metro Detroit Area Fireworks Shows Through July 4th
DETROIT (CBS Detroit) - Get ready to "ooh" and "ahh!" From Birmingham to St. Clair, there are more than a dozen great fireworks shows coming up in the metro Detroit area through the 4th of July.

Thursday, July 2 - Saturday, July 4
Dearborn - The Salute to America at Greenfield Village is complete with a drum and fife parade, cannon fire, and an always fantastic fireworks show following a performance by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, each night — July 1-4, from 6-10 p.m. [Find tickets and more information, here].
Thursday, July 2
Romulus - Presented by the city of Romulus and the Romulus Rotary Club, the Romulus Community Fireworks will go off at dusk, viewable from the grounds of Romulus Middle School and Wick Elementary School at Ozga and Wick Roads. Admission is free and food vendors will be on site. (Rain date is Friday, July 3).
Friday, July 3
Birmingham - Featuring a fantastic grand finale with over 500 shells fired, the annual Birmingham Fireworks Show will take place at the Lincoln Hills Golf Course at Lincoln and Cranbrook, 2666 West Fourteen Mile Road. Gates open at 7 p.m. with the fireworks starting at 10 p.m. (Rain date is Sunday, July 5).
Brownstown - The show begins at 10 p.m. at Lake Erie Metropark, 32481 West Jefferson Ave. Admission is $10 for those without an annual Metroparks pass.
Green Oak Township - Fireworks will go off at dusk over Whitmore Lake preceded by music and family fun starting at 7 p.m. Catch the show from the grounds of the post office on Main Street or from anywhere along the lake. Free parking will be available on the middle school athletic field. Note: Main Street will close at 8 p.m. from Barker to the Marathon gas station for the event. [More info here].
Hazel Park - Fireworks will go off at around 10:30 p.m. at Hazel Park Raceway, located at Dequindre at 10 Mile Road. Admission is free. Come early for live horse racing beginning at 6:30 p.m.! (Rain date in Saturday, July 4).
Plymouth Township - The big show begins at 10:15 p.m. at Township Park, 46640 Ann Arbor Trail, between Sheldon and Beck roads.
Saturday, July 4
Clarkston - Clarkston Independence Fest begins at 11 a.m. at Clintonwood Park, wrapping up with fireworks at 10 pm. The festival will feature live music, a Veteran's Ceremony, arts and crafts show, children's activities and more. If you're headed over there early, catch the parade at 10 a.m. in downtown Clarkston. Clawson - Clawson's 4th of July Celebration is a day-long event, featuring an ice cream social, kiddie parade, live music, food, rides, a fun run and more — beginning at 9 a.m. at Clawson City Park (935 N. Custer), and wrapping up with fireworks at dusk.[More information here].
Gibraltar - The Gibraltar July 4th Festival will feature a fireworks show at 10 p.m., behind Parsons Elementary School,
14473 Middle Gibraltar Road, following a full day of fun events, with a parade, food and live entertainment, pony rides, carnival rides, a petting farm and more at Hy Dahlka Park behind the Community Center. [More details here].
Grosse Pointe Farms - Catch the big show at 10 p.m., along Lake Shore Drive waterfront; near Moross on Harbor Hill, Lake Shore Drive. There will be live music beginning at 7 p.m., and a regatta, too! Free admission.
Highland - Fireworks will be launched from two barges located near the southern end of White Lake (White Lake Road) at dusk, following a boat parade at 2:15 p.m. beginning in the bay near Mitchell's Marina. (Rain date is, Sunday, July 5).
Huntington Woods - The show begins at 10:05 p.m. at Rackham Golf Course, 10100 W 10 Mile Road, preceding by "Run, Walk, Boom!" at 1 Mile and 5K fireworks fundraiser. [More details here].
St. Clair - The annual City of St. Clair fireworks display will go off at 10 p.m., viewable from Palmer Park, in Downtown St. Clair, and along the banks of the St Clair River. S Riverside Ave. Pro tip: Admission is free, but parking can be an issue, so walk down to the park if possible. Vendors will be set up in the park from 9 a.m.-11 p.m.
Trenton - The Trenton Independence Day Fireworks begin at dusk. The main viewing area is at Rotary Park (free admission!), but excellent viewing is available all along the riverfront, on Riverside Drive. Musical entertainment begins at 8 p.m.
Waterford - The "Big Bang Fireworks" will shoot off over southern Maceday Lake, on Maceday Lake Road, at 10 p.m. Free admission. (Rain date is Saturday, July 5).
