Mega Millions Jackpot Rises To $550M; 2 Metro Detroiters Win $1M
DETROIT (WWJ) - No one won the big Mega Millions jackpot Friday night, but two people in metro Detroit are $1 million richer.
Friday night's Mega Million winning numbers were 19-24-26-27-70 with Mega Ball 12.
Michigan Lottery officials say two tickets sold in the state matched five numbers in the drawing. One winning ticket was sold at a BP gas station on Harper Avenue in St. Clair Shores, while the other winning ticket was sold at Grapes & Hops Market on Cass Elizabeth Road in Waterford.
The Mega Millions jackpot, which has been growing since Oct. 1, is now at an estimated $550 million for the next drawing on Tuesday, Dec. 17. Chances of selecting the winning six-number ticket are just 1 in 259 million.
The jackpot is approaching record-setting numbers. The largest Mega Millions jackpot ever was $656 million.
