Medical Examiner: Body Found Likely Not Missing Painter
DETROIT (WWJ) - Preliminary indications are that a body found in the Detroit River is not that of a painter who fell off the Ambassador Bridge.
The Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office said the body spotted by fishermen and pulled from the river late Tuesday afternoon appears to be a black male. He was found near the bridge, not too far from the Boblo Island docks.
A U.S. Coast Guard spokesperson told WWJ Newsradio 950 that the body was badly decomposed. The man has not been identified.
The painter, 27-year-old Kent Morton, who fell while working on the bridge in January, has not been found.
