Roadwork Alert: New Freeway Projects
It could be a rough Monday morning commute as MDOT kicks off several new freeway repair projects in the Detroit area. And, it's not all clear for the weekend, either.
Crews are expected to begin painting parts of 30 bridges over I-96 between Newburgh and Telegraph roads in Wayne County.
In addition, MDOT said crews will start resurfacing nearly a mile of I-375 downtown beginning Monday.
Monday also is the day MDOT will begin a freeway lighting upgrade on both directions of I-94, in stages between I-96 and I-75.
As for the weekend, the Southbound Lodge Freeway (M-10) will be closed from 11 p.m. Friday until 1o p.m. on Sunday.
Eastbound I-94 will be down to one lane between Merriman Road and Beech Daly, 8 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.
More Weekend Projects:
NB M-10 ramp to NB Telegraph, total closure (9 pm Fri - 5 am Mon)
NB Telegraph from M-10 to 13 Mile, reduced to one lane (9 pm Fri - 5 am Mon)
