McDonald's Testing New Garlic Fries
DETROIT (WWJ) - There's something new, and quite pungent, under the golden arches.
McDonald's is testing garlic fries at four restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area.
According to a news release put out by the fast food giant on Tuesday, the new fries are made with chopped garlic, olive oil, parmesan cheese, parsley and a pinch of salt — and they'll be made-to-order in McDonald's kitchens
The garlic fries are part of a trend at McDonald's to experiment with regional flavors and food on its menu, according to the company.
How have they been received so far?
"The response from our customers has been very positive," said Nick Vergis, Co-op President for McDonald's in the San Francisco Bay Area. "We enjoy giving our customers options and bringing this local flavor to our world famous French fries."
If the trial is successful, the fries could expanded into other parts of the country.
