Mayor-Elect Duggan To Be Sworn-In New Year's Day
DETROIT (WWJ) - The transition team for Mayor-elect Mike Duggan tells WWJ that the new mayor will be sworn-in on the first day of the new year.
January 1 will mark the first day of the new term for Duggan who successfully ran for Detroit mayor against Wayne County Sheriff Benny Napoleon.
Outgoing Mayor Dave Bing will be on hand to pass the torch as Detroit City Clerk Janice Winfrey officiates at the swearing-in. And it is expected that US District Court Judge Patrick Duggan as well as several members of the Duggan family will be in attendance.
