* Facebook Inc. said Wednesday that its net income was $219 million, or 9 cents per share, in the January-March period. That's up from $205 million, or 9 cents per share, in the same period a year ago, when the company was still private. Revenue grew 38 percent to $1.46 billion from $1.06 billion. FactSet says analysts expected revenue of $1.44 billion.
* LinkedIn is launching a new feature that will cater to creative types. The social network for professionals announced on Wednesday that it is adding visual portfolios to member profiles.
* The amount of carbon dioxide in the air is hitting a huge milestone this month. For the first time in recordable history, the amount of CO2 could rise above 400 parts per million (ppm).
* Apple may be working on a larger iPhone, but don't expect to see it this summer. In a note to investors, Jeffries analyst Peter Misek speculates that Apple will launch an iPhone 6 with a larger screen in June 2014, reports the Financial Post.
