Matt Dery's Daily Update 6-9-11
The Tigers are back home for the first of 8 in a row at Comerica Park. First up, the much improved Mariners who swept a three game set from Detroit back in April. Tigers just a game and a half back of the first place and idle Cleveland. Justin Verlander is on the hill for the Tigers and Doug Fister for the M's.
Terrelle Pryor's lawyer says it's getting ugly. Columbus attorney Larry James says Pryor is considering suing ESPN for reporting what he calls bogus allegations against him for accepting gifts. James adds that what is going on with Pryor at Ohio State and the NCAA system quote unquote slavery. The attorney adds he does not know of any rules that Pryor has broken.
Lions worked out again today at Country Day and even added another day on the schedule for tomorrow. The offense went thru a series of two minute drills today and Matthew Stafford spent extra time afterwards working with rookie wide out Titus Young. Stafford is fed up with lockout questions from the reporters and said more workouts are coming in July if the lockout is not over.
