Matt Dery's Daily Update 5-9-11
Pitching has been the key in the Tigers success the last week, 5 wins in their last 6 games and the starters ERA right around 3. The Tigers face the Blue Jays one more time in Toronto, Max Scherzer on the hill for the Tigers and can become the majors second 6 game winner. Jays counter with Brandon Morrow who is 8-1 in his last 13 home starts at Rogers center.
The Red Wings are alive and now halfway to their goal of winning 4 in a row from the Sharks to advance. The series now at 3 games to 2 still in favor of San Jose, game 6 tomorrow night faces off at 8. We will see after tomorrow's morning skate if Mike Babcock takes Johan Franzen out of the lineup that has been slowed by a sore ankle and is nowhere 100 percent.
