The Tigers losing streak has now reached 3 as they start a weekend series in Pittsburgh. It's interleague play and the Tigers have fared pretty well against the National League recently, Detroit 6-6 all time against the Pirates who come in as winners of the last 2. Brad Penny on the hill against right Jeff Karstens, with no DH that means Victor Martinez catches and Alex Avila is the odd man out.
The Red Wings will give Nick Lidstrom all the time he needs to decide on his future. The Veteran defenseman has played 19 years with the Wings. His goalie Jimmy Howard said today that his gut feeling is that Nick will be back.
SI.com's Peter King asked today on a podcast about which quarterback he thinks will be the best in 10 years of the 3 drafted 2 years ago Matthew Stafford, Mark Sanchez or Josh Freeman. King says he goes with Freeman because he feels like the Bucs QB knows what it takes to become a great signal caller in the NFL.
Another day of workouts and interviews for draft prospects at the NBA combine in Chicago. John Kuester is not there but did tell the Detroit News he will run the team's individual workouts with the players at the practice facility when prospects come to town. Tyler Honeycutt and Chris Singleton among the players the Pistons talked to today.
