Toronto fresh off a weekend sweep in Minnesota, Jose Bautista of the Jays leads the bigs with 16 home runs and has hit 70 since the start of last season. Max Scherzer on the hill for Detroit who is opposed by Kyle Drabek, Tigers trail the Indians by 3 ½ in the Central.
Matthew Stafford says he is ready to play football right now and is 100% healthy after shoulder surgery. The Lions QB told reporters today at an appearance in Grand Rapids, Stafford says there would be no way he starts training camp on the physically unable to perform list.
Now will there even be a training camp? NBC sports NFL analyst Cris Collinsworth says he thinks the lockout will run into November, believing the owners are in no hurry to end this dispute with the players.
