Lions General Manager Martin Mayhew has always been very close to the vest. It will be interesting to see what he shares with the media today at his annual pre draft press conference in Allen Park. Mayhew and the Lions pick 13th in next Thursday's first round and many speculate that Clemson defensive end Da'Quan Bowers could be the pick. Today Browns GM Tom Heckert who chooses 6th in round 1 says his team doctors have cleared Bowers and they don't believe his knee is an issue.
The Red Wings are the first team to get thru into round 2 of the NHL playoffs and the only club to sweep their first series. Nick Lidstrom today was named a finalist for the Lady Byng Trophy given out to the NHL player who shows the most sportsmanship as well as skill.
Tigers get a night off before the White Sox come to town for the first of 3 tomorrow. Chicago wraps up its series in Tampa against the Rays tonight. Chicago has lost 7 in a row.
