Matt Dery's Daily Update 4-18-11
It maybe a white out in Glendale but it won't exactly be a full-on home ice advantage for the Coyotes against the Wings tonight. Game 3 in Arizona and you can always count on a ton of Red Wings fans in the building for tonight. Wings are up 2 games to none and trying to join top seed Vancouver which is up 3-0 on Chicago. Henrik Zetterberg remains out for Detroit.
The Tigers head to Seattle for the first of 3 against the lowly Mariners. Eric Wedge's team has won just 3 of their last 14. Tigers 2-2 on their west coast trip so far. Max Scherzer on the hill against left Jason Vargas. Tigers just 1-4 in 5 games at Safeco last year.
One less player for the Pistons to choose from in the upcoming NBA draft, Harrison Barnes has decided to return to North Carolina for his sophomore season.
Ben Wallace has company, reports say Dwight Howard is set to be named NBA defensive player of the year for the 3rd time. Only Big Ben and Dikembe Mutombo have done that.
