The Pistons welcome in the NBA's best team tonight, the Spurs. San Antonio, the surprise of the NBA at 42-8 and in the midst of 9 straight games on the road due to the rodeo in San Antonio. Detroit has won 2 straight and Rip Hamilton was back on Saturday. Ben Wallace says regardless of whether he plays or not the team is capable of winning. The Carmelo Anthony trade rumors are heating up again, reports say Knicks owner Jim Dolan has no contacted the Nuggets himself to try and lure Melo to the Big Apple. ESPN reports that the Lakers are in early talks with the Nuggets about sending Andrew Bynum to Denver for Anthony.
Forget about Michael Young coming to Detroit, The Fort Worth Star Telegram says the disgruntled Texas DH has told the team he has an 8 team trade list. The list includes both L.A. teams, the Twins and Yankees; the Tigers were not on that list. Dave Dombrowski tells Foxsports.com that the Tigers are set with whom they have right now anyway.
No Valtteri Filppula for the Red Wings tomorrow night at home against Nashville. The forward tweaked his knee last night and Ken Holland says he will not be available tomorrow. Wings hoping that Thomas Holmstrom will return against the Preds, he says he plans on returning.
