Matt Dery's Daily Update 2-22-11
4th day of spring training for the Tigers without Miguel Cabrera, the St. Lucie County Sheriff's office has now set his arraignment on drunken driving charges for March 16th at 9 a.m. in Ft. Pierce Florida. Cabrera can hire a lawyer to waive the arraignment if he chooses, that way he would not have to be there. It was expected that Cabrera would meet with doctors on Monday but the Tigers have not confirmed that.
Pistons are at home tonight with 25 games remaining following the All-Star break. Pistons host the Houston Rockets and trail the Indiana Pacers by 4 and a half games for the 8th spot in the East. Pregame is at 7 p.m. on WWJ AM 950.
Big game for Michigan State as the Spartans hit the road for Minnesota tonight. MSU has dropped 6 straight road conference games but Tom Izzo likes how his team is battling right now especially Saturday and the win over Illinois. MSU beat Minnesota by 9 at the Breslin Center, December 31st.
Red Wings go for their 6th straight win tonight. Detroit skates with San Jose at the Joe. Hear it at 7:10 p.m. on 97.1 The Ticket. Chris Osgood says he will definitely return this season and is feeling much better and would love to come back as early as next week.
