Masked Men Rob Gaylord Medical Marijuana Site
GAYLORD (WWJ/AP) - Police in northern Michigan say several masked men brandishing handguns attacked and robbed operators of the Compassionate Caregivers medical marijuana dispensary.
The Petoskey News-Review said the stickup happened about 12:30 p.m. Sunday in Gaylord. Police said the men bound the clinic's operators, who were able to free themselves and contact authorities.
No serious injury to the operators was reported.
The suspects, described as black males, were seen leaving the scene in a white SUV. Police won't say exactly what was taken.
Police are asking for public help in catching the robbers. Anyone with information is asked to call the Gaylord Police Department at 231-732-1777.
Whether such dispensaries are legal under Michigan's medical marijuana is still up in the air. Some such facilities have been shut down as others continue to operate across the state. A Supreme Court battle on the issue continues. (More on this here).
