A Good Month For General Motors
DETROIT (WWJ) - March auto sales are out and it was a time for General Motors to shine.
GM's U.S. Vice President for Sales Operations Don Johnson says retail sales were up 17 % and total sales were up by 11%.
"No, we haven't seen any impact on our sales in March from the earthquake, as sad as that is, we have had good inventory this month," says Johnson.
Johnson says the automaker capped off a very successful quarter and they are looking forward to the future:
"We're going to continue to ride the wave of all of our new products, but we are also looking forward to the introduction in the fourth quarter of the Cheverolt Sonic that is a smaller car and again, I think that will fit right into the market," says Johnson.
Ford's numbers are expected out later today.
