Man Who Murdered At 11 Faces Prison Assault Trial

ADRIAN (AP) - A Michigan man convicted of a rifle-slaying committed at age 11 faces trial next week on charges that he assaulted two prison guards.

Lenawee County Circuit Court says 26-year-old Nathaniel Abraham is scheduled for a bench trial on Tuesday in Adrian on accusations he attacked the guards in November 2010 at a prison facility.

A message seeking comment was left Friday for defense lawyer Sharon Clark Woodside. The Daily Telegram of Adrian reports she requested the bench trial rather than a jury trial.

Abraham is serving four to 20 years for drug possession. If convicted, he could get up to five more years in prison.

Abraham was convicted of murder for using a stolen rifle to kill 18-year-old Ronnie Greene in Pontiac in 1997 and was held until turning 21.
