Man Who Fled With 5-Year-Old Son Charged In Wife's Slaying
ORION TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WWJ/AP) - A 39-year-old Michigan man has been charged in the slaying of his wife in a Port Huron home.
Port Huron police say Douglas Ball was arraigned Tuesday on murder and torture charges.
Ball was arrested Sunday in Oakland County's Orion Township after an AMBER Alert had been issued for the five-year-old Port Huron boy. The boy was reported missing after the body of 30-year-old Lydia Rose Ball was found Saturday by her parents.
The boy was found safe with Douglas Ball in a mobile home following a police manhunt for Douglas Ball.
Ball is jailed without bond. A probably cause hearing is scheduled for Sept. 6.
