Man Who Escaped Arizona Jail Caught In Michigan
PHOENIX (AP) - A man who escaped a Phoenix jail eight months ago by impersonating another inmate has been arrested in Michigan.
U.S. Marshals Service officials say 34-year-old Rocky Delgado Marquez was taken into custody Monday afternoon in Detroit.
They say he was found at a home along with several fraudulent identification documents and a loaded military assault rifle.
Authorities say Marquez is being held pending extradition to Arizona.
He originally was arrested in September 2010 on suspicion of perjury, influencing a witness, forgery, felony criminal damage, misconduct involving weapons, driving under the influence, failure to stop and misdemeanor criminal damage.
Authorities say Marquez also is facing federal charges. He's suspected of conspiracy to commit money laundering and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
He escaped from a Maricopa County jail in May.
