Man Wearing Dust Mask Robs Gas Station At Gunpoint
COMMERCE TWP. (WWJ) - Police are looking for a man who walked into a gas station in Commerce Township, pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money.
The incident happened at the BP gas station on Pontiac Trail near Beck Road around 11 p.m on Wednesday.
According to police, the clerk was closing up the station and was counting the cash at the station when a black male entered the store wearing a white dust mask. Police say the suspect threatened the clerk with a black semi-automatic hand gun and demanded all the money.
The brave 24-year-old clerk attempted to wrestle the gun away from the suspect and push him out of the store but was knocked to the floor, police said. The suspect then fled the building with almost $1,000.
The clerk received a minor injury to his hand.
Oakland County Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspect or witnesses. Investigators were lucky though, as the incident was captured on video from the security cameras.
The suspect is described as a black male in his twenties, approximately six feet tall, wearing a black tee-shirt and long red shorts.
An investigation is ongoing.
