Man Stands Trial In Death Of Girlfriend, Her Child
Todd Pink will stand trial in Macomb County in the May shooting death of his girlfriend Carrie Seils and the stabbing death of her 3-year-old son Skyler. He was bound over in Clinton Township District Court Monday. James Pagano, a roommate of Seils, told the court she had been arguing with Pink after he got into a confrontation at the Downtown Hoedown. Once back at the home of Seils, he left and returned a half hour later with a gun, shooting Pagano in the face before he passed out.
"When I came to, I ended up going into the the kitchen area, and that's where I seen Ms. Siles on the ground. I seen Skyler at her feet and I found Heavyn crying," Pagano said.
"There was lots of blood everywhere," he said.
Seils' 6-year-old daughter Heavyn was out in the yard at the time of the attacks. She told the court she heard three loud bangs, and saw Pink exit the home.
Lisa Klein, Pink's sister, said Pink called her later that night after the attack.
"He had said he had just shot four people, it was hard to understand him, he was screaming and crying," Klein said.
WWJ's Ron Dewey said family, friends and other supporters of the victims made a strong presence in the Clinton Township District Courtroom.
Chad Seils, former husband of Carrie Siels and Skylar's father, was in the courtroom.
"I had a lot of rage, but under circumstance, I can control myself," Seils said. "It's not fair to any of the victims, and with what my family and myself are going through right now."
Seils said his daughter, Heavyn, who witnessed the attack doesn't really talk about that night a whole lot any more. "She did at first in the hospital... right now if she could do anything, she would love ot see her mom and Skylar again," Seils said.
