Man Takes Bullet To Neck During Apparent Drive-By Shooting In Ferndale
FERNDALE (WWJ) - Ferndale police are investigating a shooting that left a man with a gunshot wound to the neck.
The incident happened Thursday night outside of a home in the 1700 block of Hazelhurst, in a neighborhood near I-75 and 9 Mile Road.
Witnesses reportedly told police that a van came speeding down the street with its back door open when someone inside fired shots at a man who was sitting inside his car.
As the suspects sped away from the scene, the victim reportedly got out of his vehicle and collapsed onto the ground. According to reports, he received at least one gunshot wound to the neck.
The victim was taken to a local hospital, although his current condition is unknown.
Police have not yet released descriptions of any possible suspects.
An investigation is ongoing.
